We are a volountary group dedicated to the restoration of Britain's oldest brick-built lighthouse.

100 Years on 1908 - 2008

The light at Leasowe was lit for the last time on July 14th 1908..

This year it is the 100th anniversary of the ‘putting out’ of the light at Leasowe Lighthouse. We intend to have a celebration at the lighthouse and have been developing ideas for some months.

On Tuesday 15th July we will need your help. Volunteers are required to staff the kitchen and guides for taking people to the top. We will keep you informed of the event, and the activates you can get involved with, to help us celebrate.

Leasowe Lighthouse Abseil 2008

Saturday 2nd August 2008 the friends of Leasowe lighthouse are holding a third abseil down the lighthouse.

Last year was such a success and with your help we raised £900. With your help this year we are looking forward to raising even more. This year you can raise money for Leasowe lighthouse or a charity of your choice. There is a registration fee of £25.00 to book your place and time for the descent from the top of the lighthouse. You will also receive a sponsor form so you can collect your sponsor’s donations. The closing date for this event is Monday 28th July 2008. The registration fee must be paid on or before this date as we cannot guarantee a place on the day of the event. Registration fee is non refundable.
