BBC film "Squirrel on the Wirral" at Leasowe Lighthouse for the CBBC Dare Devil Series

Parents of young children will be familiar with the CBBC television channel and some of the programmes transmitted.

Last October, the Friends of Leasowe Lighthouse were also introduced to this popular channel when a camera crew came to the lighthouse.

They were filming for a new series of The Dare Devil, and one particular episode involved a squirrel abseiling down the lighthouse.

It's been a long wait, but we are delighted to announce that the new series of The Dare Devil starts on Monday 17th February at 4.30pm

and "our" particular episode will be transmitted on Friday 28th February at 4.30pm.

Make sure you watch the whole story and find out what a squirrel was doing at Leasowe Lighthouse.

Discover all the history behind this amazing local landmark.
In addition to public open days we also provide private guided tours by prior appointment for School parties, Clubs, Associations and Learning Groups such as U3A etc. A private tour offers much more time to take in the history of the lighthouse and Friends of Leasowe Lighthouse guides will be present to answer questions and to acquaint you and your party with the an understanding of the importance of this this 250 year old historic lighthouse to the local shipping industry and the creation of the port of Liverpool.
